Session Details:
When a student or client is struggling to master continence skills, it can be difficult to know where to start. This workshop will cover the foundations of healthy bowel and bladder function and the most common problems you may see in your practice. We'll then cover a series of interview questions you can use when assessing a toilet learner, followed by a flexible sequence for your toilet intervention that moves towards independence.
Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, participants will know:
Basics of bowel and bladder function, including common disorders and medical interventions
Categories of questions to assess your toilet learner's skills and needs
A template for a continuum of toilet teaching
This workshop is appropriate for individuals with a health or medical background, including OT, OTA, PT, PTA, and nursing.
A zoom link will be sent out to all registrants at a later date.
